For Gift 16, Cami wakes to find her friend Allie (who stayed over) already 2+ hours starting to work on her new brand strategy. They get a quick breakfast together, then they shut themselves in Cami's office to work. Three hours later, they have new brand strategy and are ready to go out to celebrate. Cami gets Allie a celebratory coffee as her gift for the day. Then they go shopping and Allie talks Cami into buying two pairs of jeans and two shirts, since the clothes she is wearing are very baggy given her recent 20 lb. weight loss. Cami realizes it is her second anniversary and she hasn't gotten her husband Mark a gift yet. She rushes home, makes a nice card with a photo collage, writes a gooey love letter, and finds a forgotten iTunes gift card on her desk to give to him. They exchange gifts over take-out Chinese, re-read old love letters, and reminisce about the early days of their courtship.
Today is a vacation day from work, but there are several things on my to-do list. One is to meet my friend Janine for lunch at Macaroni Grill and catch up on what's been going on with her and her new job. What a great gift to spend time catching up! On my way home, I pick up supplies to use for making yummy treats to give as holiday gifts to family and friends -- stay tuned tomorrow to see what we make! As for today, my gift is to contribute to the Brunswick High School Key Club's 22nd Annual Christmas Crusade. This crusade helps provide food, clothing, and many other necessary items for a happy holiday season for families in need in the Brunswick area. Each year the crusade is able to assist 90-100 families. Here's hoping that our gift provides immediate comfort and hope for a brighter tomorrow.
