There are just a few things that volunteers need to do before actually going on one of the Mission Possible trips. By sharing some of the details maybe I'll give others a sense of the requirements in case others may be interested in the future. And, it will give me a great way of keeping track of everything that is due and the status all in one place!
1. Submit initial application and $600 deposit. COMPLETE 10/20/09.
2. Complete volunteer application. COMPLETE 11/23/09.
3. Obtain 3 personal references. COMPLETE 11/23/09.
4. Register for Virtus Training: Protecting God's Children. COMPLETE 11/25/09.
5. Complete Virtus Training Certification. COMPLETE 12/19/09.
6. Valid passport. COMPLETE.
7. Provide 3 copies of passport to church, one for luggage, and keep one at home. COMPLETE 11/27/09.
8. Complete criminal background check. COMPLETE 12/19/09.
9. Complete acknowledgement form for Cleveland Diocese: Policy for the Safety of Children in Matters of Sexual Abuse: Revised, 2007. COMPLETE 11/27/09.
10. Complete acknowledgement form for Diocese of Cleveland: Standards of Conduct for Ministry. COMPLETE 11/27/09.
11. Attend Mission Retreat to prepare for trip. COMPLETE 11/21/09.
12. Participate in packing party for all donated items to be distributed. CANCELLED.
13. Participate in Brigid's Crossing fundraiser. COMPLETE 12/12/09.
14. Get immunizations for travel to Dominican Republic including Hep A/B; Tetanus; Typhoid; and Malaria Pills. COMPLETE 11/30/09.
15. Write two personal letters/prayers and send anonymously to prayer partner prior to trip. COMPLETE 11/25/09 and COMPLETE for 12/10/09.
16. Shop for items to used and then donate. COMPLTE 11/28/09, 11/30/09 and 12/24/09.
17. Pack. COMPLETE 12/26/09.
