Day 2.
It was Thursday, March 20. Cami Walker was sluggish and moving slow which delayed for her doctor appointment. The one hour accupuncture treatment went well, and then she went home for lunch and a nap. A phone call later woke her up, and it was a friend who recently moved to the Bay area asking if she wanted to go for a walk. They walked down Hollywood Boulevard and saw a crowd gathering on the sidewalk ahead around a group of 9 young men giving a breakdancing performance. Though she doesn't normally give money out on the street, she is surprised that she feels moved to reach for the emergency $5 tucked into the waistband of her drawstring pants. One dancer waives the money in the air saying "Hey, this rich white lady just gave me five bucks!" This sets the tone and other people start matching the donation.
Today, I admit that this gift idea literally just fell into my lap. Last night, my friend Jim posted this status update on his Facebook page. "42 years old and I still havn't figured out what I am good at." Time to help Jim learn his top 5 natural talents, or signature themes from the Clifton Strengths Finder. I've had two extra "Now, Discover Your Strengths" books sitting on my kitchen counter waiting for a home. I sent Jim a note asking for his address, and it was in my inbox when I woke up this morning. So I mailed Jim his book this evening along with an offer to help walk him understand the tool and provide insights into his signature themes and natural talents.
Greetings! It's been a while!
