Day 3.
Friday, March 21. Cami and her husband Mark go to visit her friend Lauri, who also has MS. Lauri is an MS thriver, continuing to pursue life with gusto despite her physical limitations. Cami is here to seek change by surrounding herself with people who live as you she aspires to (a tip she learned through mental recovery programs). However, Lauri seemed flat and admitted she was "having a bad day in her head." She used to be a professional dancer and missed working and feeling like she accomplished things. Cami called Lauri on her self-limiting thought patterns and said she chose to stop dancing becasue she couldn't dance as well as she wanted. She could still dance in her wheelchair, maybe not professionally but it would still be dancing. This led to a productive conversation in which they brainstormed ideas to start a dance class for differently-abled children. Lauri asked Cami for her help which fell right into her role as business coach and start-up consultant.
As for me, I was updating a couple of my blogs last night and realized what a big commitment it is to maintain a daily online journal. Along with this, I know that it's important to have milestones and celebrate successes along the way. So I wanted to get a little gift for Candice, author of the Daily Challenge blog which is focused on highlighting one positive thing each day (see http://www.smileonceaday.blogspot.com/). She's been at it for 80 days now, and her goal is to do this for a whole year. Wow! So last night I was running errands around town and had to stop in to her favorite coffee shop to pick up a gift card which I placed in the mail this evening. Enjoy!
Greetings! It's been a while!
