Monday, April 7th ~ Cami knew she would be tired after all the walking yesterday, so she schedules her work with a new client in the afternoon. She and her client are on a roll after 45 minutes, so Cami extends the session by 30 minutes for free. This gift is offered out of gratitude for being able to work again. It happens to be for a health food, healthful living client who wants to teach people how to use food as medicine and make lifestyle changes so they can live healthy, balanced lives. This resonates with Cami because of her current condition and given her previous intense, deadline driven work routine.
My gift for today may seem simple. I brought dinner home for my son Alex who was home alone for a bit while everyone else was out doing their thing. I was running a little late coming home from work anyway (traffic was horrible by the mall!!), so I didn't mind making a stop for him. The reason I count this as a gift is because I realize the money I spent on it could feed a family for a week+ in some parts of the world. I was able to find one of the videos that we watched during our retreat last month to prepare for our mission, an area which we will be visiting later this month. Take a look and I think you'll agree we have so many gifts to be thankful for in our country.
