Gift 10 ~ Bright Ideas / Dairy Queen

For Gift 10 (March 28), Cami goes to her physical rehab group and brings a book called The Big Book of Bright Ideas to give to her friend Beth. Beth is a member of the group who loves to read, especially complex mysteries, but has had trouble lately in following the plots. Then during their session, they discuss ways to make it safer to move about their homes given their MS, and Beth comes up with the idea of using rope lights to brighten up Cami's dark entryway. Cami thinks the idea is brilliant and since she has white Christmas lights, she doesn't have to spend any money at all to do it. After class, Cami notices another friend waiting in her scooter for her ride (which on one or two occasions never showed), so she waits for her til the ride comes plus buys her a cold bottle of water as well.

My gift for the day is to spend time with my oldest son Austin after work, which includes attending his confirmation prep meeting and making a trip to the Dairy Queen. It was nice because Austin isn't very talkative on our way to the church, so I ask if he wants to stop anywhere afterwards. As we leave, he asks if we can go to the Dairy Queen which is usually a "yes" in my book! (I am a frequent customer, the folks there know me well. I've been known to take three soccer teams there in one day!) Austin asks for a quarter to try to win a free Blizzard by getting the coin into the middle of the coil at the bottom of a fish bowl. Of course I don't have one, but by then I ordered and got 75 cents in change and what do you know....Austin wins a free Blizzard on his first try! Since I already paid (he got the Tagalong Blizzard), they gave us a coupon so we can go back sometime soon!
